Digital Rights

The entertainment industry would like to apply very strict rules about who is allowed to copy what digital information, under what circumstances, and for what purposes. They have gone to the extent of installing spyware on users computers if their digital information is being played on the user's computer (Sony most notably). They insist, in the US, that any effort to reverse engineer or otherwise frustrate the application of digital rights enforcing software is/should be illegal. What's the ethical response of the IT Professional when ordered to work on such enforcement software?
