1. Your firm is about to launch a new product. This seems likely to be a critically important make-or-break product. The firm badly needs to get the word out. Your boss tells you to purchase an email list of prospects. You point out that sending out an unsolicited mass email message would amount to sending spam. This could have a serious negative impact on the firm and all of its products. You boss isn't convinced. What should you do if he still orders you to do as you were told?

2. You're working on a mass email program that can be used for your firm's electronic newsletter. Your firm is only planning on send out the newsletter to those who have explicitly requested copies. But the people in product development think there may be a big opportunity here - sell copies of your program to other firms that want to send out mass email messages. You're concerned that the program could be mis-used to send out spam. You want to add features that will make it very difficult for anyone to continue to use the program to send spam. You're not given the resources required to add those features. What should you do?
