Misrepresentation

Questions should encompass any professional misrepresentation, not just that of competitors or member's own capabilities. They should also address misrepresentations of about clients and colleagues.

1. Your name is being put forward as someone who would be on the team proposed in response to a Request for Proposal from a major client. This could be important for your career (and bank balance). Unfortunately, the proposal authors have seriously mis-represented you background and experience. What, if anything, should you do about this?

2. The client is asking for proposals from experts to help with a major project. This would be fascinating work for you and would keep you happily employed for many months. The client has a list of required characteristics of the experts they are prepared to consider. You meet or exceed most of the required characteristics, but you don't have any direct experience with Service Oriented Architectures and such experience is required by the client. How should you respond?
